Lanny Grilly
-
Owner/Engineer/Video Editor/Drummer

Lanny started Swing Odyssey Studio as home studio for

personal projects two years ago and the business grew to
warrant the move to it's present location in Evanston. The
new facility was built with state-of -the-art equipment as he
felt that the incredible talent of our local musicians was underserved
in this market. "We're just as talented as the artists in New York
and L.A., but the big studios have abandoned Chicago."

In Lanny's other life, from which he retired last year after
25+ years, he was responsible for shepherding multi-million
dollar creative projects for consumer giants such as, Helene Curtis,
Unilever, Kraft Foods, and Wal-Mart. His project billings for Unilever
alone totalled over $50 million during the last 5 years.

With the well-equipped drum booth at the studio and his
expertise as a studio drummer, he often adds drum & percussion
tracks to sessions when clients need to "fatten-up" or fix a track.

Lanny's musical background brings a musician friendly environment
to the sessions and he provides a comfortable atmosphere that
encourages the best performances.
